Physician Assistant’s job skills and responsibilities

Physician Assistants are those who provide excellent services classically done by the chief or a senior physician, under the supervision of the chief or the experienced physician.

Skills Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited educational program for physician assistant.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of techniques required for diagnosing, treating and at sometimes prescribing medicines and alternatives for the patient’s recovery and provide counseling and guidance for any physical or mental dysfunctions under the supervision of the physician.
  • Good knowledge in providing personal services such as meeting the quality norms, and evaluation of customer or patient satisfaction.
  • Must possess good English knowledge including grammar and other rules of composition to prescribe medicines to patients and other customers.
  • Should be an active listener, learner, with critical thoughts, reasoning and possess good judgment skills to make decisions using scientific methods and tools to provide solutions to problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance, care and moral support to all patients and other coworkers.
  • Communicate with supervisors and peers through telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintain good interpersonal relationship with other co workers and help in maintenance of timeliness in providing the healthcare services to the patients.
  • Should keep abreast of the modern techniques and knowledge regarding their area of work and apply them at work.
